Our 2008 Pilgrims

Raised in Little Neck, New York, Joseph Robert Bertino is a freshman at Fordham College, Rose Hill in the Bronx. He plans to earn a B.A. in International Political Economy. Some of the extracurricular activities he is involved with are Fordham’s Ultimate Frisbee team, the volunteer EMS service, and Students in Free Enterprise [SIFE], a free enterprise and microfinance initiative. In the Summer Joseph will be working in Manhattan with Environment America, a non-profit campaign to fight global warming. He is very excited for his two-week walking tour, is grateful that such a unique course is offered at Fordham University, and that he has the opportunity to be a part of POCF in raising money to help children and their families in impoverished areas around the world. Joseph has also been to Mexico and Berlin, and cannot wait to live out of his backpack along the Camino de Santiago.
