Who We Help

POCF expands its roster of developing world partners as donated funds allow. Among our current beneficiaries:

St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School for AIDS orphans (Kenya): St. Al’s is situated in Nairobi (Kenya), in one of Africa’s largest slums. St.Al’s offers desperately poor teenaged boys and girls a quality secondary education that prepares some for college and others for salaried work. Prospective St. Al’s students must pass entrance exams entitling them to a tuition-free education. But St. Al’s students must have two other “qualifications”: each is an AIDS orphan, and each is impoverished.

Pathways to Higher Education (Philippines): Pathways, founded in partnership with the prestigious Jesuit Ateneo de Manila University, provides tutoring, financial support, and leadership development for severely underprivileged youth. Many Pathways participants were raised in squalid conditions alongside one of the world’s most extensive garbage dumps, yet have gone on to attend the Philippines’ most prestigious universities—an incredible human success story.
