What We Do and Why (continued)

The need is enormous: 1.3 billion people survive on less than $1 a day; the mortality rate for their children under five is 25 times higher than in the developed world; only 20% of their children receive a secondary education. (All statistics from UNICEF State of the World’s Children, 2006).

The opportunity is enormous: POCF can help provide quality secondary education for a few hundred dollars per child—what a “value proposition,” an opportunity to make a life-changing difference at a reasonable cost.

The gap is enormous: Only 2% of the $ 200+ Billion of American private charitable dollars annually donated typically go to “international affairs.” (source: Association of Small Foundations).

Please help POCF to deliver more to those who need it most.
